The Battle of Gettysburg took place from July 1st to 3rd, 1863, in Pennsylvania. This historic battle marked the turning point of the American Civil War, resulting in the largest number of casualties seen in any battle during the conflict. Over the course of three days, General George Meade's Army of the Potomac emerged victorious against the Confederate army led by General Robert E. Lee, effectively thwarting Confederate efforts to invade the North.
The first day concluded with the Confederates holding Gettysburg but failing to secure the high ground. Day two unfolded through a series of engagements at Culp's Hill and Little Round Top on both ends of the battlefield. The events of day three culminated in the ill-fated Pickett's Charge, a pivotal moment in the battle.
Additionally, this gaming experience delves into smaller skirmishes leading up to this significant historical showdown.
